Happy spring! March was a tough month for me academically and the tennis season also began, so I was only able to read 3 books. I also started House of Sky and Breath, which is a whopping 800 pages and will probably take me another few weeks to finish.
Stats:
- Read: 3 books

- Favorite book of March: Killer Instinct
Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This was an amazing, fast-paced, dramatic crime fiction story. I felt like the plot was fairly easy to follow without getting too complex and muddy, and was still nuanced enough to be interesting. As a reader, It was so fun trying to use the clues to figure out the killer. Most of all, I loved the main characters and their relationships with one other. I’m getting more and more attached to them with each book in the series! Rating: 5 stars
The Stranger by Albert Camus (no rating)
Do I Know You? by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

This was a pretty big disappointment. It felt very serious in tone, a big contrast to the rom-com nature of the premise and the book cover. There was virtually no humorous aspect to the story, characters, or dialogue, which made the book very boring to me. The characters were extremely realistic but the attempts to solve their marriage crisis were repetitive until the end. The book also did seem to get slightly preachy on the subject of how to make marriages work. I felt like a couples therapist was trying to write a self-help book disguised as a romance.
