This is being posted so late, I’m so sorry for that! Life has been crazy lately, but luckily I am committed to college now and don’t have to stress about that anymore. I only read 3 books this month again, but such is life.

After two long months, I finally finished this book! The time it took me has nothing to do with the quality of the book, though; it’s just been a crazy couple months. This book was SO MUCH FUN. I really loved reading about each character, and even though there was a huge cast of characters, each one was fleshed out relatively well and was easy to relate to. The modern-day banter and dialogue made the story funny and easily accessible. Crescent City was a delightful city that mixed fantasy and modern urban life into an imaginative but still comforting setting. My absolute favorite part was the found family that was created. My only critique would be with the ending– the “big secret” the whole book had been building up to was pretty unimaginative and mediocre, but SJM made sure to leave a cliffhanger that sets the next book up for some wild times.
